WATERLOO — Isabelle Elizabeth Meints Walker, 96, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born on April 8, 1917, in Waterloo, daughter of Cyril and Catherine Stewart Rust. On Dec. 28, 1946, she married Vance “Buster” Meints in Eldora. He died in 1986. On Dec. 27, 1995, she married Robert Walker in Colorado. He died in 1998.

Mrs. Walker graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1935, then attended Iowa State Teachers College (University of Northern Iowa), Cedar Falls. She worked at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 21 years. She was a member of the Covenant Auxiliary Craft Group, making baby caps for hospitals. She also was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Survived by a son, Kim Meints of Waterloo; a stepson, Warren (Donna) Walker of Denver, Colo.; two stepgrandchildren, Kyle (Dianna) and Luke Walker; and a stepgreat-grandson, Ethan Walker.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a stepson, Bobby “Bob” Walker.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Isabelle enjoyed numerous card clubs and baking. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
