WATERLOO — Duane Davis, 82, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, in Golden Valley, Ariz., from pancreatic cancer.

He was born June 14, 1931, in Waterloo, son of Wayne T. and Goldie Mae Card Davis. In 1958 he married Neva Bennett, and they later divorced.

Mr. Davis graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1949, then joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. He was employed for 35 years with the U.S. Post Office, Waterloo,

Survived by three sons, Timothy (Elena) of Kingman, Ariz., Kevin of Prospect Heights, Ill., and Scott (Amy Ebert) of North Hollywood, Calif.; a daughter, Shari (Andrew) Sterner of Riverside, Calif.; seven granddaughters, Rachel, Rebekah, Sarah, Madeline, Sophia, Melisa and Emillie.

Preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Jack and Larry (Sharon).

Memorial and inurnment will be at a future date at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside.

Duane moved to Kingman, Ariz., 12 years ago. He dearly loved and was proud of each of his seven granddaughters, and enjoyed spending time with them. His hobby for many years included traveling and playing in the local country bands in Iowa and watching Hawkeye football.
