Joseph W. Sadler, 86, of Jesup, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born May 15, 1921, in Black Hawk County, son of William and Anna Risse Sadler. He married Josephine Weiden on Feb. 27, 1946, in Gilbertville.

Mr. Sadler farmed with his father until his marriage. He farmed five miles southwest of Jesup where he resided until his death. He also was a rosary maker for the missions.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard of Jesup; two daughters, Mary of Jesup and Patricia of Waterloo; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence (Genevieve) of Dunkerton.

Preceded in death by a son, Ronald; a daughter-in-law, Christine; his parents; four brothers, Leo, Leonard, Albert and Anthony; and three sisters, Mary Schmitt, Lena Distler and Margaret Etringer.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Gilbertville. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
