The Rev. Andrew Hanfland, 64, O.F.N., former assistant pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, died Monday of a heart attack in St. Louis, Mo. The funeral mass will be Thursday in St. Francis Catholic Church at Oakville, Mo.

He was born May 26, 1906, and was ordained a priest in the Franciscan Order on June 24, 1933. He was assistant pastor at St. Mary's Church until 1942, when he joined the armed forces as a chaplain, serving in the South Pacific.

He had been assistant director, of the Veterans Administration in Washington, D. C., until five weeks ago when he became chaplain in the Veterans Hospital at Koch, Mo.

Survivors include two brothers and one sister.
