James R, "Jim" Fortier, 63, of Baxter, Minn., formerly of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 1994, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Brainerd, Minn., of natural causes. .
He was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Independence, the son of John and Wava West Fortier.
Mr. Fortier worked as a car salesman at Bartine Motors in Cedar Falls for many years before retiring to the Brainerd area. He then was employed as a security guard for the Potlatch Paper Corp. in Brainerd and did maintenance work for Camp Lincoln in Nisswa, Minn.
Survived by his wife, Shirley, of Baxter; three sons, Roger of Oklahoma City, Okla., Gregory of Jesup, and. Phillip of Waterloo; two daughters, Donna Reese of Rogers, Ark., and Julie Fortier of Waterloo; his parents, of Waterloo; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Gloria Gallaher of Waterloo.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Friends may call an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home; visitation also from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Halverson Johnson Funeral Home, Brainerd, Minn.
