CEDAR FALLS — Belva Jean Wumkes, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, March 20, 1999 at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

She was born April 23, 1919, in Grundy County, daughter of Edward LeRoy and Nola Blanche Taylor Book. She married Delnier Ernest Wumkes on June 20, 1936, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wumkes worked as a laundry supervisor at the Western Home.

Survived by two sons, Richard E. of Cedar Falls and Douglas B. of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Blanche Michaelsen of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a sister, Frances Campbell.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Barr Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in Reinbeck Cemetery, Reinbeck.

Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home, with family present.

Memorials may be directed to the Western Home.
