WATERLOO - Mildred M. Craig, 81, of Friendship Village, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at Allen Hospital.

She was born May 21, 1924, in Ottumwa, daughter of Charles and Clara Krumpoltz Spurlock. She married William E. Craig on July 24, 1944, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waterloo.

Mrs. Craig was a loving wife and mother as well as a wonderful homemaker. She also was a beautiful seamstress, noted for making her own clothes.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Bill of Iowa City; a daughter, Michall "Mickey" (Terry) McGrane of Denver; six grandchildren, Anthony McGrane, Lisa Carson, Steve McGrane, Matt Craig, Nick Craig and Anne Craig; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Helen (Tom) Biller of Des Moines, Donna Flanscha of River Falls, Wis., and Charlise Monahan of Phoenix.

Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Anne McGrane; and a sister, Carol Wilson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Friendship Village Medical Center or the church.
