WATERLOO - John Russell Jacklin, 47, of Waterloo, died at home Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, of a malignant brain tumor.

He was born June 23, 1958, in Waterloo, son of Russell and Elaine Perrigo Jacklin. He married Caryl Schmidt, and they later divorced.

Mr. Jacklin lived in Polk City, Fla., for more than 20 years, where he worked at Jasso Landscaping Co. He also was part of a Southern gospel quartet in Florida.

Survivors include two daughters, Nichole (Kelana) Efendi Blanchard of Portland, Ore., and Sabrina Jacklin of Cedar Rapids; and his parents of Waterloo.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Evansdale, with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
