Patrick Neil Beierschmitt 57, of Jesup died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at his home of cancer.

He was born March 4, 1948, in Waterloo, son of Neil Patrick Beierschmitt and Dolores Margaret Trierweiler Beierschmitt. He married Mary Ann Widdel April 6, 1974, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waterloo.

He graduated from Don Bosco High School Gilbertville, in 1966 and then served in the US. Navy, active and reserve duty. He trained in the four-year journeyman mechanic program at John Deere Waterloo, and worked as a maintenance mechanic at John Deere, retiring from department 7B in 1997.

Survived by his wife; two sons, David (Jennifer) of Rockford, Ill, and Joseph of Ames; three daughters, Katherine (Darrick) Hagen of Tipton Laura (Sterling) Minick of Mountain View, Alaska, and Rebecca Beierschmitt of Coconut Creek, Fla; three grandchildren; and a brother, John (Judy) of Jesup.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10:30 am. Tuesday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, with burial in St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery; both in Jesup Friends may call after 2 p m Monday at White Funeral Home Jesup, where there will be a 3 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service The casket will also be open for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials maybe directed to the church, Don Bosco High School Gilbertville; or Cedar Valley Hospice.
