HUDSON—Services for John Multhauf, 79, of Rt. 1, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Hudson, with burial in the church cemetery. He died of cancer Monday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

He was born Oct. 25, 1895, in Cedar Falls, the son of Frank and Sophia Eickelberg Multhauf. He married Pauline Gutknecht Feb. 24,1921, in Hudson, and she died in 1971. He later married Clara Sandgreen May 27, 1972, in Waterloo.

A veteran of World War I, he attended Gates Business College and the Cedar Falls Normal School. He farmed for many years west of Hudson.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Marvin, of Rt. 1; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Wardius and Mrs. Emest Coble, both of Rt. 2, Cedar Falls; four brothers, Carl of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Louis of Mason City, Burt of Cedar Falls, and Ben of Moriarty, N.M.; and a sister, Miss Lucy Multhauf of Riverside, Calif.

Friends may call at Dahl-VanHove-Schoof funeral home in Cedar Falls until 11 a.m. Wednesday, and from noon until service time at the church. The family suggests memorials may be given to the church.
