WATERLOO – Deane R. Waldon, 79, died at home Friday, Aug. 23, 2013.

He was born Aug. 21, 1934, in Waterloo, son of Harley and Pauline Schrodemier Waldon. He married Regina Callan Welch Sept. 19, 1997, at St. Edward Catholic Church.

Deane was a systems project manager for John Deere for 43 years, retiring in 1992. He attended the University of Iowa.

Survived by his wife; a son, Jeff (Tamiko) of Summerville, S.C.; three daughters, LaDonna (Paul) Fishkin of Peoria, Ill., Linda (Ron) Rector of LeClaire and Sherri (Kirk) Wilson of Huntsville, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary (Linda) Waldon of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Mary (David) Gabrick of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a son, Scott; and a daughter, Lori Waldon.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edward Catholic Church with inurnment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. There will be no visitation at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
