HUDSON — Patricia “Pat” Koelling, 68, of Hudson, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 14, 1945, in Neola, daughter of Clement and Alice Jokumsen Masker. She married Kenneth Koelling on June 20, 1970, in Denver. He died in 1980.

She graduated from high school in Neola and also from the Business Institute of Technology. She and her husband farmed in the Denver area, and she later owned Van-Niks Restaurant, Denver. Mrs. Koelling retired in 1999 from East Central Iowa Cooperative.

Survived by a son, Vance (Linda) of Waterloo; a daughter, Nikki Koelling of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Caleb, Kami and Trevor Koelling; two brothers, Tim (Della) Masker of Readlyn and Tom Masker of Omaha, Neb.; and a sister, Jane Weber of Fort Worth, Texas.

Preceded in death by her father; her mother on Aug. 16, 2013; and a brother, Michael Masker.

Joint services: for Pat Koelling and her mother, Alice Masker, are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Waverly, with burial for Pat in St. John’s Cemetery, Denver. Visitation for Pat will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
