CEDAR FALLS — Wendell Kent Greenley, 83, of Cedar Falls, died at home Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013.

He was born March 12, 1930, in Raymond, son of Clifford and Fannie Greenley. He married Leticia Gorospe Cachola on Aug. 26, 1978, in Bloomington, Minn. She died Oct. 26, 2002.

Mr. Greenley graduated from Waterloo East High School and served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed with Rath Packing Co., Waterloo Industries, and operated a jewelry business with his wife for many years.

Survived by two sons, David of Minneapolis and Paul of Cedar Falls; a brother, Ronnie (Dixie) of Dike; three sisters, Lois (Jim) Marbach of Clive, and Sharon (Carl) Bouck and Bonita (Ronnie) West, both of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, JoAnne; and many nephews and nieces.

Preceded in death by a brother, Gary.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, with full military rites by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, assisted by the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Visitation from 9:30 a.m. until services Thursday at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the church.

Wendell loved to write creatively, read, watch sports and spend time with his family. He also enjoyed teasing all of his relatives.
