CEDAR FALLS - Services for Laurence L. Johns, 58, of 1115 W. 10th St., will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, with military rites by the Cedar Falls He died of cancer Monday (June 27. 1988) at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born Aug. 18, 1929 in Iowa Falls, son of William and Lois Smith Johns. He married Frieda Heise on Oct. 18 1949, in Waterloo. He was employed by John Deere. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Survivors include his wife; his parents; two sons, Keith L. of Washburn and Craig A. of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Candice Heiser of Waterloo, Cheryl Johns of Raymond and Gayle Wilson of Cedar Falls; a sister, Retha Conkey of Villa Park, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at The Reams, Huisman- Schumacher Chapel, where a rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday.
