CEDAR FALLS — Linda S. Holstun, 63, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Kansas City, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center.

She was born March 24, 1950, in Fort Monmouth, N.J., daughter of Benjamin and Bobbie Hood Savage Sr. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Memphis State University, a master’s degree from Delta State University, and also earned her CPA designation.

Ms. Holstun worked as an accountant for a variety of institutions, including John Deere, Den Hartog and Hogan Accounting Firm and also served as the controller for the Olathe, Kan., school district. Her past memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Air Craft Owners and Pilots Association.

Survived by a son, William “Chris” (Jennifer) of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Andy and Ashley; her father of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and two brothers, Tommy (Pat) Savage of Booneville, Miss., and James “Rick” (Stacey) Pennington of Holly Springs, Miss.

Preceded in death by her mother; and a brother, Benjamin “Harold” Savage Jr.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at the Western Home Chapel, Cedar Falls, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kearns Funeral Service, Kimball Chapel, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Thursday at the Western Home Chapel.

Linda was a private pilot and a bicycle enthusiast, and also was active in Junior Achievement programs.
