Funeral services are pending at the Kearns-Dykeman Chapel for Charles Ross Carson, 81, who died about 7 p. m. last evening at his home, 322 W. 13th St., of carcinoma.

He was born Feb. 12, 1878, in Telford, Tenn., the son of Brook and Ellen Campbell Carson. He married Desta Halm on Feb. 6, 1904, in Iowa City.

Mr. Carson was a retired farmer and worked for several years at Iowa City as a high school custodian, coming to Waterloo in 1952. He was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Ollie, of 919 Janney Ave. and George, of Blytheville, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Theodore Davis, Wenatehwee, Wash. and Mrs. Robert Adamy, Dayton, O.; two brothers, Ralph Carson, Jonesboro, Tenn. and Brook Carson, Telford, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and a sister.
