CEDAR FALLS- Eunice M. Mitchell, 88 of Cedar Falls died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at her home.

She was born April 23, 1919, in Salem, Ohio, daughter of Angus and Inez (Stamm) MacInnis. She married John W. Mitchell on Oct. 14, 1944 in Wooster, Ohio. He died July 22, 1992.

Mrs. Mitchell earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of Wooster, in Wooster, Ohio and her Masters Degree from Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. She taught English and Latin for many years in the Cedar Falls School System, retiring in the mid 1980's. She was active in many organizations in the area, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte (Michael) Smith of Winnetka, IL; a son, Tom (Betsy) Mitchell of Pittsburgh, PA; a grandson, Ted Smith of Winnetka; three step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by one brother, Gordon A. MacInnis; two sisters, Judith MacInnis and Nancy Naccarato.

Memorial Services: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church. There will be no visitation. Her body has been deeded to the University of Iowa College of Medicine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church or the College of Wooster.
