Gryce Stella Gilson, 87, of the Parkview Nursing Home died at 10:07 p.m. yesterday of a cerebral hemorrage.

She was born April 7, 1881, at Odebolt, the daughter of Joseph Bradner and Fanny Phylbric Mertz. She married Charles Walter Gilson April 30, 1911, at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. They lived in Canada until they came to Waterloo in 1931.

She graduated from high school at Wahpeton, N.D., and went to the university there. After graduation she was social reporter for the Pipeslone and Rochester, Minn., papers. She was a lifetime member of the Becker Chapter of the Eastern Star, a member of the Waterloo and Cedar Falls Women's Clubs, WSCS, and First Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Bradner S. Gilson of 615 Midlothian Dr.; two daughters Mrs. Keilh C. Adair of 1832 Rainbow Dr, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Arthur D. Stafford of Memphis, Tenn; one sister Mrs. Winnogene Kirkham of Vancouver, Canada; four grandsons and one great-grandson.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two brothers, one sister and one grandson.

Friends may call after Monday morning at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home where services are pending.
