WATERLOO — Shirley Ann Benham, 73, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, from complications of an intraventricular hemorrhage.

She was born April 10, 1940, in Oelwein, daughter of Harold and Phyllis Hull Bright. She married David Patrick Benham on July 25, 1961, in Moline, Ill.

Survived by her husband; a son, Troy (Katie) of Marion; two daughters, Janece Shaffer of Waterloo and Christine (Steve) Benham of Dysart; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dale (Rita) Bright of Waterloo, Donald (Linda) Bright of West Union and Richard (Viola Zerfus) Bright of Oelwein; and a sister, Lavonne (Howard) Rolfs of Oelwein.

Preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Tracy Benham; and a brother, Robert Bright.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Shirley was a long-time resident of Waterloo. She loved country music and played in a band for many years.
