Funeral services for George Henry Hile, 62, former resident of Waterloo, who died Tuesday at Ancker Hospital, St. Paul, Minn., of bronchial pneumonia, were conducted at 2:15 p. m. Thursday at the Kearns Garden chapel by Rev. Orville Walker, pastor of Central Christian Church. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 1880, the son of Henry and Celia Hile.

Surviving are one daughter. Mrs. Guy Fleming, 211 Courtlandt Street; two sisters, Mrs. John Marson, St. Paul; Mrs. Ed Coryell, Seattle, Wash., and two brothers. Fred Hile, St. Paul and Charles Hile, Rockford, Ill. Four grandchildren also survive.

A June 17, 1902 article told of George Hile being a new employee at the Illinois Central shops in which he worked in the capacity of a helper, having recently moved to Waterloo from Denver where he conducted a restaurant. He was formerly proprietor of a restaurant on the west side of the river. He lived at 326 Freemont Street.
