On Sunday morning at 8:10 William Reed passed away at his home, 303 Franklin Street, after an illness of two weeks with pleurorpneumonia. He had been seriously sick since Tuesday and the end was not unexpected.

Deceased was born in Illinois March 5, 1860. He came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Reed, to Iowa in the early days, settling on a farm near Dewar. Sixteen years ago he came to Waterloo where he engaged in business, continuing this practically all of the time since. Three years ago he went out of active business for a time on account of his health and looked after his land interests in Colorado. Last July he again entered into business in the firm of Reed & French.

Mr. Reed was married in Waterloo January 30, 1895, and his wife and six children survive, two having passed away in infancy. The children are: Herbert, Clifford, Gladys, Martha, Robert and Alice, the oldest thirteen years and the, youngest eighteen months. Other relatives who survive are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Reed, who now live in Waterloo, and three brothers, Joe, Frank and Isaac, jr., also of Waterloo. Five brothers are dead.

Deceased was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church. He held membership in the Catholic Order of Foresters and with the Woodmen of the World, having insurance to the amount of $1;000 in each. He also held accident policies in the Eagles lodge and the Bankers' Insurance company. In the Woodmen lodge he held the office of sovereign,

He was a man who had many friends and all will regret his death and will sympathize sincerely with the relatives who are left to mourn.

The funeral will be held from St. Joseph's Catholic church on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
