WATERLOO — Caroline Ash, 86, of Friendship Village, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born April 30, 1914, in Ortonville, Minn., daughter of Meinert Gabriel and Suzana Askelund Kvalheim. She married Wesley W. Ash on June 8, 1938. Mrs. Ash was former president of Grace Methodist Women's Society and TIT.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Linda Caton of Evansville, Ind.; two sons, Chuck W. of Hudson, Wis., and Fred W. of Evanston, 111.; and five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until services Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church or Friendship Village Auxiliary.
