RICHARD MULLAN RITES THURSDAY

Illinois Central Yardmaster and Engine Foreman

Funeral riles will be conducted at 9 a, m. Thursday, in St. Joseph's Catholic church for Richard Mullan, 310 Iowa Street, retired Illinois Central railroad yardmaster, who died suddenly in Dubuque Monday. The body was to be brought from Dubuque to the family home in Waterloo Tuesday afternoon, remaining there until time for the funeral. Burial will, be in Calvary.

Mr. Mullan was yardmaster from 1885 to 1912, and served as engine foreman from 1912 until his retirement in April. 1931. Entering the Illinois Central service as a switchman in 1885. he was an employe for 46 years. He was about 70 years old.

The widow, formerly Miss Mary Casey of Dubuque, survives, besides two sons, Charles of Washington. D. C., and Paul, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Loomis. at home; four sisters: Catherine and Anna Mullan of 428 Bratnober Street, Mrs. Mary Chapman of San Francisco. Cal, and Mrs. Eleanor Dewey of Los Angeles, Cal.: and one brother, James Mullan of 428 Bratnober.

The Rosary society of St. Joseph's Catholic church will meet at 8:15 p. m. Wednesday at 310 Iowa Street, the residence of Richard Mullan, retired Illinois Central railroad yardmaster and engine foreman, who died suddenly in Dubuque Monday. Funeral services will be at St. Joseph's Catholic church at 9 a. m. Thursday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
