WATERLOO — Norman A. Wetzel, 53, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Allen Hospital.
He was born Nov. 23, 1959, in Chicago, son of Arthur Wetzel Sr. and Rosemary Ellen Edwardson Baker. He married Laurel Gillingham on April 4, 1998, in Waterloo.
He served in the U. S. Army and was employed as an independent merchandiser in the area.
Survived by his wife; his father of North Judson, Ind.; four brothers: Art (Kim) Wetzel of Waterloo, Adolf Wetzel of North Judson, Randy Simpson of Illinois, and Keith Simpson of Indiana; four sisters: Dianna Wetzel of Orland Hills, Ill., Rosemary (Jerry) Smith of Pennsylvania, Ruth (Glen) Wright and Mary Simpson, both of Indiana; two stepsons, Michael Allan Hoover of Waterloo and Christopher John McCoskey of Texas; and a stepdaughter, Tiffany Marie Ray of Salinas, Calif.
Preceded in death by his mother.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Celebrations First Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Full military rites will be conducted at the church by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31.
