La Porte City—Therm Howery, 72, died Sunday in Detention Hospital at Waterloo. He had been ill since Jan. 7.

He was born May 7, 1868, on a farm in Spring Creek Township, son of Calvin and Martha Howery. He married Ella Krebs of La Porte City there in 1899.

He leaves three children, Mrs. C. M. Dexter, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Naomi Letterman, and Ray Howery, both of Waterloo; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. J. W. Roberts, and one brother, Ray, both of Waterloo.

Preceding him were his parents and one brother.

Funeral 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Methodist church; burial in Westview Cemetery; the body is at the Johannsen Funeral Home.
