WATERLOO - William "Bud" Patterson, 85, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 9, 2007, at Manor Care Health Services.

He was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Charles City, son of Jay Walter and Ivy Louise Hoeft Patterson. He married Marjorie Collings on Aug. 15, 1949, in Morrison.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II. He was employed with Rath Packing Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Greg (Carrie) of Cedar Falls and Jeff (Pam) of St. Paul, Minn.; four grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchell, Melanie and Jessa Patterson; and a sister-in-law, LaDonna Patterson of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Robert; and two sisters, Doris Joslin and Mildred White.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Reformed Church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is assisting the family.
