CEDAR FALLS - Services for Martin "Marty" Thompson, 19, of Aspen Lodge at Estes Park near Denver, Colo., formerly of 2216 Clay St., will be. 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Catholic Student Center, University of Northern Iowa, with burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery. There will be a 6:30 p.m. Scripture service Wednesday at the center.

He died Saturday afternoon at St. Anthony's Central Hospital in Denver of injuries received in a motorcycle accident.

He was born Nov. 25, 1959, in Carroll, son of Gayle and Caroline Fritz Thompson. He was a 1978 graduate of Malcolm Price Laboratory School and attended UNI for a year. For the past five months he had worked at Aspen Lodge.

Survivors include his mother of 2216 Clay St.; two brothers, Chris of Youngstown, Ohio, and Bob of 2216 Clay St.; four sisters: Mrs. Cynthia Jennings of Decorah, Mrs. Jean Newsum of Charles City, Mrs. Mary Anderson of Rochester, N.Y., and Katie of 2216 Clay St.; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Myrtle Thompson of Mankato, Minn.; and maternal grandfather, Leo J. Fritz of 2216 Clay St.

Friends may call al Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation at the student center will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday.
