CEDAR FALLS — Kelly Jo Fackler Scharnhorst, 55, of Waterloo, formerly of Cedar Falls, died at home Friday, Aug. 9, 2013.

She was born July 18, 1958, in Des Moines, daughter of James and Sharon McFarland Fackler. She married Gary Scharnhorst on Dec. 3, 1983, in Waterloo, and they later divorced.

Ms. Scharnhorst graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1977 and was employed as a waitress at the Olive Garden in Waterloo.

Survived by a daughter, Amy (Derek) Doherty of Fort Madison; a son, Cory of Cedar Falls; her parents of Cedar Falls; a granddaughter; and brother, James Fackler of Davenport.

Preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents; and a brother, Randy Fackler.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
