Ernestine "Ernie" Jeffries, 62, of 3227 E. Wasnburn Road, died Wednesday, July 31, 1991, at Covenant Medical Center on Kimball Avenue of cancer.

She was bom Oct. 21, 1928, in Lansing, Mich., daughter of Earnest and Hazel Badgley. She married Robert L. Jeffries on April 17, 1954, in Washington, D.C. She attended school in the Michigan area and then served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-54.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Dennis of Waterloo and Anthony at home; two brothers, Kenneth of
DeWitt, Mich, and Harold of Charlotte, Mich.; three sisters, Lois Struck of Branch, Mich., Phyllis Lynch of
Lansing, Mich., and Betty Hauley of Lake Delton, Wis.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball Avenue with burial at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. today and an hour before services Saturday. Flag-folding rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 138 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623.

Memorials may be made to the Covenant Foundation/Oncology Department.
