CEDAR FALLS — Cheryl S. Coffin, 75, of Selinsgrove, Pa., formerly of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.

She was born April 4, 1938, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Erwin and Viola Haehlen Smith. She married William J. Coffin on Dec. 27, 1957. He died April 5, 2003.

Mrs. Coffin graduated from high school in Cedar Falls in 1956, then attended Iowa State University, where she graduated in dietetics. She worked as a research dietitian in Chicago, then worked for the La Porte School District, La Porte, Ind., as the nutrition educator until 1981, when she went to work at Evangelical Community Hospital as a clinical dietitian. After retiring in 1992, she began working in three nursing homes and as a cardiac rehab and relief dietitian for the hospital in Hilton Head Island, S.C., where she also worked at the Royal Plaza Hotel Gift Shop. She was a member of St. Andrew’s By the Sea Methodist Church, Hilton Head Island, and later was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove.

Survived by a daughter, Cynthia C. Myers of Selinsgrove; two sons, John A. of Lancaster, Pa., and David T. of Baltimore; two grandchildren; and a sister, Raarda R. (Jack) Stillwell of Grundy Center.

Memorial services 11 a.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove, with inurnment later in Riverview Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Arrangements by V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, Selinsgrove.

Memorials may be directed to the after-school program at Wesley United Methodist Church.
