WATERLOO — Ella “Norine” Lindfield, 96, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Parkview Care Center, Fairfield.
She was born July 6, 1917, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Carl J. and Vera Bates Meyers. She married Earl V. Lindfield on Dec. 31, 1938. He died Sept. 17, 1963.
Mrs. Lindfield was a teacher and worked more than 25 years for AEA7 of Waterloo as a work study coordinator. She later continued her education earning two specialist degrees in special education areas.
Survived by a daughter, Gail (Craig) Miller of Fairfield; three sons, Michael R. of the Philippines, Larry (Carol) of Green Cove Springs, Fla., and Richard of Brandon, Fla.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Meyers of Michigan and Veryl (Shirley) Meyers of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Carlene Burri of San Francisco; and a brother-in-law, Rex Bates of Sequim, Wash.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Lorna McCarty and Reva Bates.
Graveside services: 11 a.m. Friday at Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory, Fairfield.
