Bernita F. DeBoer, 94, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Bickford Cottages.

She was born Sept. 11, 1911, in Forestville, daughter of John Waterman and Eunice Mary (Rice) Adams. She married Joseph DeBoer, and they were later divorced.

She graduated from Gates Business College and prior to her marriage worked at Rath Packing Co. and then James Black dry goods Co. She was later executive secretary at the Firestone Tire Headquarters in Minneapolis for more than 30 years until her retirement in 1972.

Survived by a nephew, Russell Lowell (Audrey) Smith of Waterloo; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a brother, Howard Adams; and a sister, Bernice Smith.
