Mrs. I. D. Gilkey passed away yesterday afternoon after an extended illness. The aged woman suffered a setback on Monday and it was feared that she would not survive the night, but owing to her vitality she rallied and was considerably brighter. She gradually sank again, however, in tha afternoon and the end came with tha close of the day.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Early Settler Called Home

Mrs. Abbie* Gilkey, a highly respected resident of Cedar Falls, passed away Tuesday afternoon at her home, 906 Clay Street.

Mrs. Gilkey is the mother of H. T. Gilkey, president of the First National bank. Death was caused
by illness and old age.

The funeral will be held Saturday, and Rev. Effie McCullom Jones of Waterloo will officiate.
