This morning at 9:30 at his home, 1411 Mulberry Street, Charles Rudolph Johnston, a young married man, only 27 years old, passed away, death being caused by tuberculosis with, which he had been sick for the past six months.

The only child, a baby fifteen months old, died last July, so that the mother is left alone.

Deceased was born in Maquoketa, January 16, 1882. and was in his 28th year when death came to claim him. The family lived for a time in Dubuque. Two of the boys, Charles and Prank, came to Waterloo fifteen years ago and have resided here ever since. The parents and other members of the family came later, but three years ago moved to Spokane. Wash., where they now reside.

Mr. Johnston was married in Waterloo, May 23, 1906. to Miss Carrie Kephart of Washington, Iowa. Their married life was ail spent in this city. Deceased had been employed with the C. H. He was a faithful employee and all with whom he associated liked and admired him, for he was a young man of fine character.

He was a member of Grace M. E. Church and attended the services with great regularity. He was also a member of the A. 0. U. W. lodge and this order will probably assist at the funeral services.
