Funeral services for Cecil Lee Buttolph, 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Buttolph, Rt. 1, Jesup, who was accidentally killed when struck by an automobile Saturday, will be conducted at 2 p. m. Tuesday at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard Jarmeson, pastor of Wesleyan Methodist church in La Porte City. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

The child was fatally injured when accidentally struck by an automobile driven by his grandmother, Mrs. Henry Newton, also of Rt. 1, Saturday.

Three-year-old Cecil Lee Buttolph was fatally injured yesterday when a car driven by his grandmother accidentally ran over him in the driveway of his home. Funeral services are pending at O'Keefe & Towne Funera Home, Waterloo.

The boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Buttolph, Rt. 1 Jesup, died about 1 p. m. yesterday at People's Hospital, Independence. The attending physician said death was caused by a basal skull fracture.

Authorities said the accident occurred shortly before 11 a. m The Buttolph boy and other youngsters were playing in the driveway as the grandmother Mrs. Henry Newton, also of Rt I, started the car, preparing to drive into Jesup.

She was quoted as saying her foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator The car bumper struck the boy's head.

Cecil Buttolph was born at Waterloo Oct. 7, 1954.

Survivors include his parents; one sister, Catherine Ann, 10; two brothers, Donald Calvin, 8, and Timothy Lloyd, 7; the paternal grandparents, Goodwin Buttolph, 1126 Washington St., Waterloo, and Mrs. Ted Albertson, 1026 Madison St., Waterloo; and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Newton, Rt. 1, Jesup.
