Charles "Chuck" Pearson Sr., 66, of 219 Sumner St., died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 1991, at his home of natural causes.

He was bom June 17, 1925, in Waterloo, the son of Walter B. and Zula Reddings Pearson. He married Ruth Magee, and they were later divorced. He then married Janet Ward, and they were later divorced.

He was employed at the Rath Packing Co. in Waterloo. Later he worked at the Greater Peoria Area Mental Health Center, and at the City of Peoria Housing Authority, both in Peoria, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include five daughters, Sandra Davis, Terry Stevens, Cathy Pearson Moore, and Sherrette Pearson Dailey, all of Waterloo, and Deardra Berry of Rockford, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Linda Thompson of Waterloo; two sons, Charles E. Pearson Jr. and Deon Pearson, both of Peoria, Ill.; and a stepson, David Ward of Peoria, Ill.; five brothers: Walter of Gary, Ind., Albert, Johnny, and Morgan, all of Waterloo, and Richard of Chicago; two sisters, Dorothy Richardson of Omaha, Neb., and Nina Williams of Lima, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Curry; two sisters, Lillian Robinson and Cola Guyton; and a
great-granddaughter.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Payne Memorial A.M.E. Church With burial in the Garden of the Good Shepherd section of the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Committal services will be at the Temple of Memories with full military rites being conducted by the American Legion Post 138, and VFW Post 1623. Friends may call at Sanders Funeral Service from 3 to 6 p.m. today and at the church after 9 a.m. Monday.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 219 Sumner St., where they will be receiving friends.
