Services for Lloyd C. Reed, 78, of 815 Hawthorne Ave., will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. He died Saturday (May 31) in Vernon, Texas.

He was born Oct. 5, 1906, in Oelwein, son of Oren and Bessie Condit Reed. He married Evelyn Jorgenson on Oct. 5, 1930, in Oelwein. She died in 1979.

He was employed at the Waterloo Courier and the Oelwein Register as a linotype operator.

Survivors include two daughters, Marlene Stafford of Vernon and Linda Slattenow of 112 Kingsley Ave.; two sisters, Eleanor Buckholtz of Oelwein and June Robertson of Waterloo; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and until services Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
