Services for Cecil I. Brown, 61, of 13 N. Elk Run Road, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. He died Tuesday morning at Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Bremer County, son of Loyd E. and Sarah Beaumont Brown. He married Hazel Newville Nov. 30,1954, in Elk Point, S.D. He farmed east of Waterloo and was employed at Rath Packing Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1984.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Ted of Evansdale, Frank of Raymond and Art and Lee, both of Waterloo; four daughters, Amy
Loonan, Nancy Markussen, Peggy Miller and Sarah "Sally" Russell, all of Waterloo; two sisters, Dorothy Hoppenworth of Waterloo and Jeanette Curry of rural Independence; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry, in 1971.

Friends may call at after 1 p.m. Thursday Locke Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be made o the Memorial Foundation of the Allen Memorial Hospital Cardiac Care Unit.
