BUSINESS MAN DIES

George M. French Summoned Sunday Afternoon.

Sunday afternoon at 4:15 George M. French, one of the well known business men of Waterloo, passed away at his home, 200 LaFayette Street, after a long illness of liver complaint. For two years he had been ill and for the past two months had been confined to his bed, the end being momentarily expected for several days.

Mr. French had been in business in Waterloo tor twenty-seven years and was a man who was liked and admired by all. He leaves many warm friends to remember him with kindly words.

Deceased was born in Waukesha County, Wls., January 13, 1849, having celebrated his sixtieth birthday early this year. He came to Waterloo in 1881 and lived here until death summoned him.

Mr. French was twice married and is survived by his widow and four children, two sons and two daughters: Mrs. Arthur Leask of Chicago, and Archie, Harry and Hazel French, all at home; W. R. French of Waterloo is a brother; William Reed, died only a few weeks ago.

Deceased was a member of the A. O. Y. W. lodge and took active part in the work of the order until illness prevented.

The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from the family residence on LaFayette Street.
