Funeral services for Charles Allen Smith, 22, of West Union, la., formerly of Waterloo, who was fatally injured Wednesday in a truck accident near Strawberry Point, la., will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.

He was born on June 17, 1928, in Waterloo, the son of William A. and Hazel Fouts Smith. He received his education in Waterloo schools and attended East high School. He married Jean Payne on Sept. 11, 1949, at Nashua, la. He moved to West Union in August of this year and was employed by the H. and H. Distributing Co., of West Union.

Surviving are his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Smith, South Hackett road; five brothers, Daniel, of Cedar Falls Richard, Huntington Road, William, Victor and Kenneth, at home; and four sisters, Mrs. Constance Parr, 436 Edwards Street, Mrs. Betty Platt, 317 West Seventh Street, Mrs. Marie Wheelock, of Gilbertville, la., and Miss Karla Smith, at home.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Rev. E. V. Perkins, pastor of Falls Avenue Wesleyan Methodist Church, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
