MRS. LORAIN C. KENNEDY

Mrs. Lorain C. Kennedy died Feb. 22, at her residence, 308 Fremont Street, after a prolonged illness. She was the widow of D. A. Kennedy, who came to Waterloo in February, 1872, and who died in 1915.

She leaves a son, G. C. Kennedy, of this city, and daughters, Mrs. Alvin L. Craig, Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Henry C. Lewis, Birch Tree, Mo.

Funeral will be at Hileman & Gindt chapel, tomorrow at 2:30 p. m.

Mrs. Kennedy was of old New England stock, directly descended thru the Richmond family from Mr. and Mrs. Mullins, their daughter Priscilla, and John Alden; also from John Rogers and his son, Joseph Rogers, all of who were pilgrims of the Mayflower. Others of this family took part in the Indian wars against the Sagamore Philip; others were officers in Sir William Pepperell's expedition which captured Louisburg from the French, and still others served on the American side in the Revolutionary war at the battle of Bennington and at other places.

Mrs. Kennedy was born Nov. 25, 1841, at Churchville, Monroe County, New York.
