Services for William E. Bowersox, 82, of 723 Kingsley Ave., will be 1 p.m. Monday at Parrott and Wood Funeral
Home, where friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday. He died at 11:45 a.m. Thursday at Windsor Estates Care Center in Cedar Falls of complications of a stroke.He was born Jan. 2, 1892, in Shueyville, the son of Clay and Adda Crowell Bowersox. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa in 1914, with a degree in civil engineering. He was an engineer for the A. R. Coffeen Co. of Decorah until his retirement in 1985.
He was married to Bernice D. Hixon Sept. 27, 1916, in Cedar Rapids. He was a 50- year Mason and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William V. of Elroy, Wis., and Edward M. of 411 Beverly Hill St.; a daughter, Mrs. Irma B. Brackin of 1160 Easton Ave.; a brother, Lester C. of Milwaukee, Wis.; and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Hyland and Mrs. Elsie Anderson, both of Cedar Rapids.
