CEDAR FALLS — John A. Barrigar, 72, of Marshalltown, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1991, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, of natural causes.

He was born Sept. 29, 1919, in Cedar Falls, son of Vernal Roy and Verne Alice Corey Barrigar. He married Dorothy L. Hanson on Aug. 27 1944 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Mr. Barrigar received his bachelor's degree from Iowa State Teachers College and his master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He was an industrial arts and science instructor with Marshalltown Community School for 35 years, retiring in 1981.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Barbara Morris of LeClaire and Beverly Mook of Fort Riley, Kan.; three grandchildren; a brother, Roger of Sebring, Fla.; and a sister, Lois Lookmiller of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Alta Barrigar.

Services will be !0:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Marshalltown, with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Marshalltown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home, Marshalltown, where the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
