EVANSDALE — Jerry Kirchmann, 72, of Evansdale, died at home Thursday, July 11.

He was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Waterloo, son of Elmer and Margaret Taber Kirchmann. He married Nancy Buhr in 1961; they later divorced.

Mr. Kirchmann worked at John Deere for 26 years, retiring Nov. 30, 1998.

Survived by two sons, David (Karen) of Waterloo and Benjamin (Nicole) of Des Moines; a daughter, Theresa (Mike) Kohler of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; two brothers, William (Sue) and Ronald (Margaret), all of Merriam Woods, Mo.; and a sister, Dixie Irwin of Merriam Woods.

Preceded in death by a son, Gregory.

There will be no services, his body has been cremated. Locke Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
