WATERLOO, IOWA - Leah C. Wilson, 79, of Waterloo, died at home Thursday, July 3, 2008.
She was born February 18, 1929, in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Adolph and Lydia Gableman Rath. She married Darold L. Wilson on July 23, 1949, in Charles City. He died February 4, 1983.
Mrs. Wilson was employed as a cashier with Clarks Department Store, Cooks Department Store and Wal-mart for 23 years, retiring in 1993.
Leah is survived by three sons: Lyle (Becky) of Jesup, Larry of Duluth, Minnesota, and Donald (Dawn) of Troy, Missouri; a daughter, Sharon (Ross) Weatherman of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren and a sister, Hannah Wood of Charles City.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Adolph "Bud" and Fred Rath; and by two sisters, Sara Helm and Martha "Mick" Wilken.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Stree and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or American Lung Association.
