Funeral services will be at 11 a. m. Saturday at Payne AME Church for Charles Murphy, 50, of 606 Gable St., who died at his home Wednesday morning of carcinoma. The Rev. Samuel Davis, pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Murphy was born in Durant, Miss., on May 10, 1909, the son of Sylvester and Lula Murphy. He had been a resident of Waterloo for 46 years and was a former employee of the Rath Packing Co.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Van Arsdale, of 615 Mobile St., and Mrs. Joanne Manning of 605 Gable St.; two sons, Charles Murphy Jr., with the Navy in Japan, and Andrew Murphy, with the Army at Ft. Benning, Ga., and six grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, his wife, one brother and three children.

Friends may call at the Johnson Funeral Home on Friday and until time of service Saturday.
