Mrs. A. B. Lane, 72, died at 3:45 a. m, Sunday at her home, 1413 Jefferson Street, following a stroke, She had been in failing health for the last 10 years.

Matilda Lyle was born Dec. 18, 1861, in Green City, Mo., the daughter of William and Hannah Lyle. She came to Waterloo 35 years ago from Green City, having been married Nov. 30, 1898, to A. B. Lane at Kirksville, Mo. She was a member of Union Congregational church and a charter member of the Security Benefit association.

Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs, John Mercurio, 1413 Jefferson Street; two step-daughters, Mrs. Louis Anderson, Fort Dodge, and Mrs. C. A. Moessner, 300 Black Hawk road; one step-son, H. A. Lane, Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren, Jean, Albert, Frances, Harry and Richard Mercurio, 1413 Jefferson Street; eight step-grandchildren, A. L. Anderson, 1201 Mullan Avenue; Keith B. Anderson, 1036 Columbia Street; Mark E. Anderson, 811 Sixth Street West: Mrs. Willard Grainger, Kothe avenue; Miss Lois Moessner, 300 Black Hawk Road: Mrs. H. A. Stark, Fort Dodge: Harley A. Lane, Tulsa, Okla., and Karl A. Moessner Trout Lake, Mich.

A step-son, Charles Lane died Jan. 1, 1911, at Waterloo; a brother, C. W. Lyle, died Nov. 7, 1932 at Waterloo, and a half-brother F M. Fry, died here in 1927.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Kistner chapel. Rev. W. A. Buell, pastor of Union Congregational church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood.
