Josephine H. "Jo" Gnagy, 84, of the Western Home Communities-Willowwood, died Friday, December 30, 2005 at the Western Home

She was born February 11, 1921, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Curtis C. and Helen (Wilson) Faris. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI). On August 29, 1944, she was united in marriage to J. Wayne Gnagy at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls. He died September 19, 2005. She was employed as a first grade teacher at Cedar Heights Elementary School, retiring in 1984. She was a member of PEO Chapter MV, Delta Kappa Gamma and a lifelong active member of Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church.

Jo is survived by her sons, John (Sue) Gnagy of Elkader and Jim Gnagy of Cedar Rapids; granddaughters, Katie Gnagy of Grundy Center and Barb Gnagy (Chris) Johnson of Plymouth, MN; and sister-in-law, Dorothy (Francis) Berkshire of Scottsdale, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2006, at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, with inurnment in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
