Services for Lillian Shaffer, 96, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Waterloo, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Shaffer died of natural causes Sunday (July 30, 1989) in Tucson.

She was born June 3, 1893, in Waterloo, daughter of George and Carolina Dettmer Meyer. She married Arthur M. Shaffer on Dec. 25, 1912, in Waterloo. He died Sept. 8, 1957.

Survivors include a daughter, Ethel Center of Tucson; a grandson; a brother, Fred Meyer of Waterloo; and a sister, Lydia Snouffer of San Diego.

She was preceded in death by three sisters.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Friday.

Memorials may be directed to the Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, Tucson, or Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo.
