CEDAR FALLS — Services for Chester M. Murphy 72, of 2116 Victory Drive, Cedar Falls, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. He died Wednesday morning (Aug. 2, 1989) at his home of a coronary.

He was born Dec 6, 1916, in Hill City, Minn., son of John' and Myrtle Lipscy Murphy. He married Violet I. Bozych Oct. 23, 1936, in Swatara, Minn. He was a foreman at Rath Packing Co., Waterloo, for many years.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Myrtle Smart of Tacoma, Wash.; three sons, Gary of Waterloo, Jack of Columbia, Mo., and Kenneth of Waterloo; six daughters, Mrs. Kay Kalsen of Huxley, Pat Pietan of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Madonna Greene of Cedar Rapids, Roberta Keen of Victoria, Minn., Becky Davis of Cedar Falls and Denese Wilson of Lenexa, Kan.; 23 grandchildren and a sister, Ethel Elliott of Tacoma, Wash.

Friends may call at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. Scripture service, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
